A 3-Step Protocol for SIFE
Support students with interrupted/inconsistent formal education (SIFE) to develop literacy skills.
Bridges to Academic Success supports SIFE through different classes and the use of differentiated instruction. In the standalone ENL class, students rotate through differentiated centers. Students work on word study, independent reading, and other ELA tasks. Students engage in a three-step protocol for SIFE: Read & Retell, Organize Ideas in a Thinking Map, and Speak & Write.
